Neuromorphometric profiles of neuropathological characteristics Lead Investigator: Olivier Potvin Institution : Quebec University Institute of Mental Health E-Mail : Olivier.Potvin@crulrg.ulaval.ca Proposal ID : 500 Proposal Description: Post-mortem neuropathological analyses often reveal the presence of multiple pathologies in individuals with and without dementia. The objective is to identify specific in-vivo neuromorphometric profiles linked to particular post-mortem neuropathological manifestations using state-of-the-art feature extraction techniques on anatomical MRIs. Analyzed neuropathological manifestations will include vascular pathology, tau, Lewy bodies, and hippocampal sclerosis indicators. The secondary objectives are 1) to compare the profiles obtained with clinical diagnosis and neuropsychological profiles and 2) to evaluate the value of these profiles for prognosis compared to neuropsychological characteristics and other biomarkers. This study will improve the understanding of the gap between clinical and neuropathological phenotypes.
